The Keypad Issue
Ever since using an iPhone, I haven’t really thought about how keypads can make a difference. When I saw the Elastic Phone Concept, it brought back memories of my Sony Ericsson and Nokia days! A time when the kind of keypad and display were the decisive factors for me. What the Elastic Phone is trying to do is give us best of both the worlds, an enigmatic OLED touchscreen display with the convenience of a flexible keypad. Opt for a full-view display with the keys shifted to one corner of the phone or rearrange them to suit game mode. What fun!

Korean designers Lee Suk Woo and Byeon Dong Jin presented in 2001 Hurdle Lamp that received a Special Mention in the 2007 Lightouch Design Competition in Singapore. Hurdly looks like a table lamp that can stand either vertically or horizontally. A sensor detects how it’s been positioned and disperses the light accordingly. The lamp is designed to provide enough light yet not being unobtrusive.

Add a little fun to your house with these switchplate covers that pop inches off the walls! They play tricks with your eyes.

As a child, going to the fair was a blast! My favorite part was walking through the funhouse trying to get out in one piece. The most hysterical part of the funhouse was the mirrors, which morphed our bodies in a variety of shapes and sizes causing outbursts of laughter and enjoyment. Hemlock Design Firm has re-created this classic mirror design, with their Funhouse Mirrors. Hemlocks mirrors which are handcrafted by artist John Balough, are more sophisticated and stylish and are much more pleasing to the eye and body. Available in standard, mini, toy and a larger custom design, Funhouse Mirrors add modern geometric style to both residential and commercial interiors alike. Yet Another Traffic Light!
We’ve seen some really cool Traffic Lights Concepts and going to the list is the Mobius Strip Lamp. It’s a one-in-all installation that features vehicle signals, pedestrian signals and a street lamp. The main idea is to reduce the visual mish-mash of lights and get them composed into one neat strip. The signal values are standard, meaning green, yellow, and red light.
